We Are All Afflicted

I'm pretty certain that I am not the only one flipping through the Pre-Fall look books that are sporadically making their way to the Internet. Though my heart begins to race seeing what next August has to offer (what am I, ill?), I need to return to the present, or at least stick to brainstorming about spring. Maybe the community should focus on renaming Pre-Fall first - before we all begin styling with "it".

First and foremost, my apologies for the crappy MacBook shots, but I couldn't contain my excitement. The jewelry has already arrived! I had to try it on immediately and show you. I am so pleased with its condition and weight - it's a solid piece. At the very bottom of the package was a note from the women over at Atlantis Dry Goods, which reads: "We hope you have fun wearing your choker!" Thank you, Karen & Co. for the lovely thought... your piece is in good hands. A friend's birthday celebration is coming up and it is the perfect opportunity to wear the necklace for the first time.

Mari's Janes

These have been sitting in the closet for a while. I decided to put them on with a pair of sheer grey socks and jeans. It's freezing here in New York. I have 3 layers on and a heavy winter jacket. Shoes were my only chance at a somewhat chic outfit today.

Polyvore Packing

I was invited to Salzburg, Austria to stay with my uncle and his wife for a few days in January. He lives in a beautiful three-bedroom apartment that has a sprawling view of the city and castle. (It better be a beauty - he spent two years renovating!) I think I may go. I need a break. The women in Austrian cities are very fashionable and they don't get enough international street cred. Influenced by both western and eastern Europe, their style is unique. When I'm on a trip, I always bring options. This time around, I'm experimenting with some visual inspiration first:
