Good Fortune

I just bought a pair of the highly covetable Celine sunglasses in black! All the stores state side have been out of them for months, let alone in black. They are coming from France, so the shipping and tax is pretty hefty, but I didn't think twice. To say that I am ecstatic is an understatement. Have a great spring weekend all!

A Toe Thing

I have been really attracted to shoes that place greater emphasis on the toe of the shoe. Remember that Giambattista Valli boot I shared last week? (See below for photo, plus a Spinelli pump with metal tip) Well, the other day when I said I took a departure from my normal style aesthetic, I had done so by purchasing these Chloe acetate pumps, yes, acetate. Suede black toe: Count me in!

Sorbet

I can't get enough Equipment. I just bought this blouse in Sorbet, which is such an amazing color almost because of its lack of color? Make any sense? The blouse radiates summer and will look super fresh paired with black and white separates and accessories. The anticipation is killing me!

New Chloé Blouse

I bought a silk blouse by Chloe with an unusual slit down the middle.

I love the shape of the collar.

This is a perfect addition to my spring/summer wardrobe, and a more conservative piece despite the nude shade.

That was fast

24 hours later and I already have yesterday's purchase in my hands - pretty good for just standard shipping.

Sweet Success

Just made my first big ticket item purchase of the summer! I have been waiting for this blouse to pop up online since October (when I saw it sashaying down the runway)...  and it sold out minutes after I snatched it - what a rush! It made it onto my spring must-have list (which I'm posting soon, I promise). I'm soo f-in excited! (Can you tell?) Sneak peak above.

Atlantis Dry Goods

I ordered this vintage modernist choker off of Atlantis Dry Goods, the e-commerce shop launched by designer Judy Aldridge of Atlantis Home fame. I've been looking for a heavy duty yet elegant necklace such as this one for quite some time. Did I tell you I was under the weather? The gold metal links are just what the doctor prescribed.

Ring Me

I love me some YSL, but I find the "Arty" rings fashion bloggers worldwide can't seem to stop salivating over to be, frankly, ugly. If you happen to be wearing the ring, my apologies. For an alternative, Dominic Jones's jewelry line has a lot of personality; something for every type of woman. I have just purchased the cage ring below (22-karat rose gold-plated). I like its simplicity. It is priced at $370 USD, which I think is quite fair. His beetles go for a bit more. I'm not into the whole animal movement, but a good majority of the fashion community seems to be in the midst of a bit of beetlemania , so I've included some shots of those rings as well. Lastly, there are also some bear trap stud earrings that create a heart effect.

Only Treats, No Tricks

This velvet mini dress by Azzaro is most certainly a treat. So lush and simple, I can't wait for its arrival.

Also, when I saw these Christian Louboutin pumps, I immediately had to have them. Aren't they gorgeous!?! They remind me of candy apples. Soo sexy... Alright, so maybe some tricks...

Afternoon At Ann's Loft

Last Thursday, before I left NYC to catch my flight, I was passing by Ann Taylor Loft (I had never been before). I decided I needed a nice no-fuss camel sweater and figured this would be the place I could find such sweater. I quickly forgot about the sweater when I noticed a huge '40% of all shoes' sign at the very back of the store. Now, I usually spend quite a lot on shoes. I don't know the last time I bought a pair of shoes on sale even. And while I was trying on shoes, I quickly remembered the thrill of buying something under the retail price. I felt it. What a rush! I was quickly drawn to these boots, that my friends would say, "aren't very you." They reminded me of the Burberry shearling boots that I wish I could buy (mind you, without the shearling and without all the Burberryness), but still, quite nice. They looked much better on my feet than on the shelf, and when I was walking around, modeling for the mirror, all of a sudden... ah ha! I felt all London girl-cool. I rarely feel London. Paris, yes, Milan, yes, London... not that often. And it was the most amazing feeling, so much so, that I bought the boots and then I bought another pair of shoes.

Two pairs of shoes for just over $100... I couldn't believe it.

I asked the retail manager, "Is this a trick of some sort? How is it that there's a Fall sale so soon?!"

"I know," she said, "but because of all this warm weather we were having during September, no one was coming in to buy winter clothing. Today is the first day of the sale, actually."

"You don't understand...," I told her, "there are NEVER shoes left in my size - let alone on sale!"

It was a really great afternoon in New York.

Delivery: Edie Blouse

This silk jersey blouse is so stylish and versatile; and more importantly, it feels sooo comfortable. For some reason (maybe because of the transparent quality of the fabric) the blouse doesn't photograph well, depending on the angle the deep navy blue changes shade; so I included the image on Tory Burch's website (the way the blouse looks on the model is exactly the shade when wearing it on). A perfect blouse for the office, and for an off duty wardrobe as well. I enjoy purchasing pieces that can transition that way effortlessly. I really like the way she styled the outfit, but I, too, have a few ideas up my sleeve.

Hurricane Pumps

What does one do when a hurricane is coming? Apparently, we are going to be hit by a severe storm. They always get these things wrong though, so we shall see. In the meantime, I just bought these Acne pumps on Net-A-Porter. I am a size 6, so I hope they don't look gigantic on me. Things I love about them:
Image via Net-A-Porter.com
1/ The sturdy heel - good for strolling (comfortable? time will tell)
2/ Suede - everything looks more luscious in suede. I'm a fan of leather too, but sometimes leather can de-class what could have been a beautiful shoe.
3/ The simplicity - it's a modern take on a very simple shoe
4/ Versatile style - can be dressed down or up
5/ Black - need I say more!

For Out-of-office Hours

Image via Shopbop.com
After I walked back from my local Starbucks at 6AM - yes!, I'm an early riser - my doorman had a UPS delivery for me. I love when I get deliveries, especially when you are expecting many things in the mail... you never know what surprise may be inside! This morning I received my Elizabeth and James cotton green jacket. Mine was ordered from Neiman Marcus, but many place carry it online, the label has its own online shopping site now as well. I don't know how it fits yet, because I don't have time to try it on. It comes with a brown belt, but I plan on pairing it with this Burberry buckle belt instead - It's just more me that way.
